The 2025 World Heritage Festival concludes Sunday in San Antonio.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Missions are some of the Alamo City’s most cherished pieces of culture and history, centuries-old structures made of limestone and carefully maintained for visitors.
But have you ever seen them in LEGO form?
This weekend provides your last chance to see the missions how you might have never experienced them before. The World Heritage Center on San Antonio’s south side (3106 Roosevelt Ave.) is in the final days of the 2025 World Heritage Festival, including a LEGO building contest and exhibit where visitors can see Concepcion, Espada, San Juan and the other iconic landmarks in miniature brick form.
The annual festival is a commemoration of when the missions were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, making them the first and thus far only such sites in Texas. There are just 26 across the country in all.
The festival runs through Sunday. Events lined up for this weekend including a bike ride tour of the Missions setting off Saturday morning; a Junior Ranger Day with activities at each mission; and tours co-led by park rangers and the American Indians of Texas. See the full lineup here.
