Police in North Texas are searching for a man who forced a Brinks Security armored truck driver to disrobe while robbing him at gun point on Friday, March 1. Video of the daylight armed robbery is circulating on social media. 

The crime happened at approximately 9:45 a.m. at a Chase Bank ATM near N. Belt Line Road and W. Rochelle Road, an Irving Police Department spokesperson told MySA. Police said the suspect forced the driver to take his pants off, as seen in the video, to “ensure the guard could not retaliate.” 

Officials said they are searching for the man, believed to a white or Hispanic male who “escaped with a large sum of money.” The man shown in images provided to MySA is wearing a bandana, sunglasses, and a hat to obscure his identity. Police said the man was driving a black Chevy Malibu vehicle.

The video posted by Instagram user edendeviaje showed the driver face down on the pavement next to the ATM with the gun pointed into the guard’s back as the suspect attempts to take the man’s pants off. The pants appear to include a utility belt that includes equipment used in the Brink Security Guard’s line of work.

The driver throws his hands up when the suspect gets his pants to his ankles, but then helps takes his own shoes off to help the suspect disrobe him in what appears to a be a bid to surrender for his own safety. The suspect returns to the opened ATM once he disarmed the security guard and the video ends.
