Saddle up for holiday fun at the Briscoe’s annual holiday celebrations, which is free for families.
SAN ANTONIO — Families are invited to saddle up for the season at the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s annual Cowboy Christmas.
The event is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 7. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Cowboy Santa will arrive in his Western best, ready for free photos and holiday wishes from young cowboys, cowgirls, vaqueros, and vaqueras. With hands-on crafts and plenty of Western-themed fun, the Briscoe transforms into a festive holiday stop along the River Walk. Guests are encouraged to register online in advance to help the museum prepare for crafts, supplies, and visits with Cowboy Santa.
This year’s celebration once again lands on the Briscoe’s monthly Locals Day, offering free general admission to all Bexar County and San Antonio residents. Children 12 and under, along with active-duty military members, always receive free admission, making the museum a perfect holiday destination for families. Visitors from outside the area can enjoy all the Cowboy Christmas fun with regular museum admission.
The museum is also extending free admission for furloughed federal employees through December 7. Federal workers may present a valid government ID for complimentary entry for themselves and one guest, giving families a chance to relax and enjoy the art and stories of the American West during the holiday season.
