Spurs fans will have to adjust their calendars after the NBA announced a change for the upcoming Spurs-Sixers home game.
SAN ANTONIO — The NBA announced that NBA TV will no longer televise the upcoming March 21 San Antonio Spurs home game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
It is not a complete shock that the league went in this direction. Both teams are at the bottom of their conferences, and the star power for this game is out for the season.
Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox are out for the remainder of the season, as is the Sixers’ Joel Embiid.
The NBA added that NBA TV will televise the Houston at Miami game instead of the Spurs-Sixers game.
AUSTIN SPURS UPDATE
The Austin Spurs have been busy on and off the court.
Malaki Branham was assigned to the Austin club to get in some reps. He had not been playing much with San Antonio, which was an excellent opportunity to stay in game shape.
Spurs’ Mitch Johnson said Branham wanted to be sent to the Austin team, which is a testament to his character.
Branham has been recalled to San Antonio.
The team also announced that it has re-acquired Malachi Flynn and placed Tre King on waivers.
On the court, the Austin Spurs (18-10) were defeated by the Valley Suns (17-12) in overtime, 113-111, on Sunday at the H-E-B Center.
Flynn led Austin with 28 points. On assignment from San Antonio, Branham followed with 26 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Kyle Mangas and Kyle Rode both recorded 12 points.
