Brother stabs sibling during early-morning fight on west side, police say

During the dispute, one brother allegedly stabbed the other twice before running down the street.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was rushed to the hospital early Tuesday morning after police say he was stabbed by his brother during a fight on the city’s west side.

It happened around 2:35 a.m. in the 1500 block of Vera Cruz. According to San Antonio Police Sgt. on scene, two brothers in their 30s got into an altercation that escalated into violence. During the dispute, one brother allegedly stabbed the other twice before running down the street.

Officers quickly located and detained the suspect a short distance from the home.

The victim was taken to University Hospital with two stab wounds. His condition has not yet been released.

Detectives are continuing to investigate what led up to the stabbing.
