Buc-ee’s breaks ground on Hillsboro store on I-35 south of Dallas

The more-than-a-gas-station chain, categorized by its largesse, clean bathrooms, and wide array of snacks, including many variations on the Beaver Nugget, will break ground on a store in Hillsboro on January 24 at 1 p.m. with a ceremony attended by members of the Hillsboro government.

The Hillsboro store will be located at 165 State Highway 77, Hillsboro, TX 76645, 58 miles south of Dallas up neighboring I-35 East. According to a press release, the 74,000-square-foot store will employ more than 200 people and will have 120 gas pumps.

“Hillsboro is one of the best forks in the road we’ve ever seen, and they have a beautiful, historic courthouse as a bonus!” said Stan Beard, director of real estate at Buc-ee’s. “Whether you’re headed to Fort Worth and West Texas or Dallas and East Texas, you can make Buc-ee’s your stop, coming and going. The City of Hillsboro and Hill County have been such great partners, and we look forward to being a great neighbor for years to come.”

The Hillsboro Buc-ee’s will be the fourth iteration of the popular rest stop situated on I-35, joining the gargantuan New Braunfels store, the Temple location, and the Buc-ee’s in Fort Worth.
