SAN ANTONIO — The football game between Burbank HS and Luling HS has been cancelled due to an alleged social media threat, the Luling ISD superintendent said.

According to a Facebook post, the post on a Burbank HS account appeared to be threatened towards the football game that was supposed to take place Thursday evening.

“We take all potential threats very seriously,” Erin Warren, the superintendent of Luling ISD said. “And will always act to safeguard our students and staff.”

The game was cancelled out of an abundance of caution. The superintendent thanked the Luling Police Department, Texas DPS Caldwell County Precinct 2 Constable and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
