Burgers vs. Tacos opens in San Antonio, serving up a playful food rivalry

Burgers vs. Tacos opened near the Medical Center, inviting guests to choose between juicy burgers and loaded tacos in a playful street-fight theme.

SAN ANTONIO — You can never have too many burger places in the Alamo City, and a new one just opened up near the Medical Center.

Burgers vs. Tacos, now open at 5145 Fredericksburg Road, is pitting two of the city’s favorite comfort foods in the ring for a delicious battle. The restaurant’s playful, street-fight theme sets the stage for juicy burgers and loaded tacos to go head-to-head, inviting guests to pick their side: Team Burger or Team Taco.

Customers can choose from sizzling patties stacked high with toppings to tortillas bursting with bold, savory fillings, but every item on the menu packs a punch. Owners Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez and his wife, Gabriela “Gaby” Hinojosa, said the concept celebrates friendly competition and culinary creativity, turning mealtime into a fun, flavorful experience.

“Imagine bold, juicy burgers squaring off against tacos loaded with flavor – every bite is a knockout,” Gaby said in Facebook post.

Burgers vs. Tacos is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering a casual spot for families, foodies, and anyone hungry for something new. Customers can expect a lively and energetic atmosphere with nods to boxing culture and cheeky matchups that keep things interesting.

And Gaby and Charlie are no stranger to successful businesses in San Antonio – they also own the popular Mexican brunch restaurant Panfila Cantina, along with their Italian concept Tutto Pepe. Plus, Gaby co-owns Poloco Snacks with her sister Mireya, so whether you’re craving a burger or taco, these food experts promise that every bite will deliver a win.
