Hull Brothers Catering draws crowds with its comfort foods and family lemonade recipe.
WACO, Texas — For more than 40 years, Hull Brothers Catering has been a staple in the Waco community, serving up comfort foods like corn dogs, funnel cakes and fresh lemonade.
Food truck operator Taylor Hull said the food truck’s legacy began with his father and uncle, who started the business long before Hull was born. Growing up, Hull worked alongside his dad, learning the trade and watching his father’s strong work ethic firsthand.

“A lot of people in this community look up to my father and know my father by name,” Hull said. “His last name holds a lot of reputation, so being able to uphold that for him to be able to carry on this business means a lot to me.”
Hull Brothers Catering, known for its sweet and savory fair-style foods, draws crowds wherever it goes. Hull said their family recipe for lemonade has become a fan favorite alongside their classic funnel cakes.
“It’s just a very comfort food, a fair food, something that you can’t get year-round usually,” Hull said. “Anywhere we go, we usually get people saying, ‘Man, I haven’t had one of these in years.'”
Hull emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses like his, especially in today’s economic climate.
“Right now, we’re in an economy where supporting small businesses is the only way to keep us at balance,” Hull said. “If we continue to not support small businesses, we’re going to see ourselves cripple one another.”
Hull Brothers Catering can often be found at the Walmart on New Road a few times a year, as well as at Baylor University football games and other Waco-area events. To track their location, Hull recommends following their Facebook page, “Hull Bros Concessions.”
“We had a great turnout last year at the fair when we were supporting the Shepherd’s Heart food pantry,” Hull said. “That event really spurred us forward.”
Looking ahead, Hull hopes to expand the business to cater more personal events like birthday parties and weddings. With a mobile trailer that can fit in small spaces, Hull said they’re equipped to serve gatherings of 30 to 40 people at reasonable prices.
