BYU defeats Colorado 36-14 in Alamo Bowl

It was the last college game for Heisman winner Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

SAN ANTONIO — The BYU Cougars claimed a decisive 36-14 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes in the Valero Alamo Bowl Saturday.

CU and BYU faced each other for the first time this season after both barely missed out on playing in the Big 12 Championship. No. 10 Arizona State ended up easily defeating No. 18 Iowa State to win the conference.

The bowl game marked the end of an overall successful season for head coach Deion Sanders’ Buffs, who narrowly missed out on making the first 12-team College Football Playoff. It was the last college game for Heisman winner Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who are both expected to be among the first players taken in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Saturday’s contest was the Buffs’ first bowl game appearance since the 2020 Alamo Bowl, which they lost 55-23 to the Texas Longhorns.
