C-130Js from Dyess AFB moving to San Antonio ahead of high winds

The 11 aircraft are being moved to Kelly Field in San Antonio in anticipation of damaging winds forecasted to hit West Texas Friday.

ABILENE, Texas — Eleven 317th Airlift Wing C-130J Super Hercules will be relocated from Dyess Air Force Base to Kelly Field in San Antonio Thursday in anticipation of damaging winds forecasted for Friday.

The 317th AW is partnering with Kelly Field to use this opportunity to demonstrate the wing’s ability to quickly relocate aircraft and personnel, a release from Dyess AFB said.

Rapid aircraft relocations such as this highlight the 317th AW’s ability to adapt to unpredictable scenarios and preserve readiness in all conditions., the release said.
