Calf injury sidelines Spurs’ Jeremy Sochan out of EuroBasket 2025

“I’m beyond disappointed to share that due to a calf strain, I have to step away from representing Poland at EuroBasket,” Jeremy Sochan announced.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Jeremy Sochan will not be playing for Team Poland at EuroBasket 2025 due to a calf strain, the Polish National Team Director announced.

“We are very sorry that Jeremy’s summer with the national team ends so soon,” said National Team Director Lukasz Koszarek. “He is a valued member of our squad and has a great connection with the team.”

According to reports, the Spurs forward suffered a calf strain during practice, which caused discomfort. He did play exhibition games with Poland before the injury.

Sochan released a statement stating that the injury will not prevent him from participating in the Spurs’ upcoming training camp, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

“I’m beyond disappointed to share that due to a calf strain, I have to step away from representing Poland at EuroBasket.

I’ve been working so hard my whole offseason for this, and the past several weeks of training and competing with the national team has been incredible. This is a special group, and I was really looking forward to being a part of this team.

Fortunately, my doctors expect a full recovery in time for training camp for the upcoming NBA season.

I want to thank my teammates, coaches, and all staff, and especially the fans here in Poland for their support. I appreciate you all, and please know while I can’t be there,  I’ll still be supporting Poland all the way. “

EuroBasket 2025 is set to start at the end of August.

Sochan averaged 11.4 points per game and 6.1 rebounds in 54 games last season with San Antonio.
