
A 43-year-old Cameron man was killed in a head-on crash on FM 485 after another driver attempted to pass in a no-passing zone, DPS said.
CAMERON, Texas — A 43-year-old Cameron man was killed in a head-on crash on FM 485 after another driver attempted to pass in a marked no-passing zone, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Troopers said the crash occurred when a 2018 Ford F-250 pickup traveling eastbound on FM 485 disregarded a no-passing zone and attempted to pass other vehicles. During the maneuver, the Ford collided head-on with a westbound 2022 Toyota Tacoma.
The driver of the Toyota, Cody Blaine Wall of Cameron, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Greg Hoelscher. Authorities said next-of-kin notifications have been made.
The driver of the Ford, a 20-year-old man from Conroe, was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with incapacitating injuries.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
