Catholic Charities hosts annual camp for San Antonio kids for free

Science, art and outdoor adventures await San Antonio kids at no cost.

SAN ANTONIO — Catholic Charities Archdiocese of San Antonio is once again bringing the joy of learning and play to local families with their annual summer camp.

This free camp is open to children ages 5 to 17 (5-year-olds must have completed kindergarten), and offers a dynamic blend of educational experiences and creative activities designed to keep young minds engaged all summer long.

According to Omar Davila, Senior Director of Family Sufficiency at the Guadalupe Community Center, the camp is about much more than keeping kids busy.

Davila said the camp also provides relief to many families by offering a safe, enriching environment at no cost.

“It’s been a lifesaver for a lot of the families in our community, especially being that it’s a free service,” Davila explained. “It’s critical for the community that we’re serving and that’s why we’re trying to grow and we’re trying to expand it.”

With spots filling fast, families are encouraged to register early.
