Cause of death pending for man found dead in Castle Hills home

The man was found with a gunshot wound to the head.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was found dead at a Castle Hills home Friday, and medical examiners now say they have made no official ruling on the cause of death.

Castle Hills Police responded to the call in the 100 block of Twinleaf Lane after a report of gunfire and found a 25-year-old man dead inside.

At first, officials said it was believed the victim may have accidentally shot himself in the head. It’s unknown whether there was anyone else in the residence at the time.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office previously ruled the death was by suicide, but then further stated Tuesday that the death remains under investigation and the ruling is pending.
