CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs reflect on losing Micah Parsons to Green Bay Packers trade ahead of the season

Ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles, Cowboys players are weighing in on the Micah Parsons trade.

DALLAS — Micah Parsons practiced with the Green Bay Packers for the first time on Monday. 1,100 miles south, the former #11 for the Dallas Cowboys was still top of mind for some players.

“It sucks… It’s just like a repetitive thought,” said Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb. “Micah being drafted here, I would have loved for him to finish his career with a star on his helmet. But obviously, that wasn’t the case. But yeah, man, that’s sucked.”

Lamb was one of Parsons’ most vocal supporters throughout the contract dispute with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

“That’s my dawg, man… Wishing him the best. Hope he has the best season ever,” Lamb said on Monday. “He’s Micah Parsons. He’s unblockable. He’s unstoppable.”

The Cowboys traded the All-Pro pass rusher to the Green Bay Packers last week for veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks.

On Sept. 28, Parsons returns to North Texas when the Packers visit the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

“The worst,” Lamb said with a smile when asked how it will feel seeing Parsons in a different jersey. “It’s gonna be weird. I hope he is not in the backfield in two seconds.”

In the wake of the trade, reports emerged suggesting that Parsons may have rubbed some of his former teammates the wrong way.

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, one of Parsons’ closest friends on the team, said, “I think the criticisms came from guys who were jealous of Micah… I guess his personality and who he is… like, he knows he’s a great player. He knows he’s good. He knows who he is. So you know, a lot of people don’t like that.”

Diggs said he even went over to Parsons’ house to celebrate after the trade went down, a testament to their friendship and Parsons becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The Cowboys can move on from Diggs after the 2025 season, if they choose. Remember, the Cowboys fined Diggs $500,000 this summer for not training enough with the team in the offseason. That does not paint a rosy picture of a team that wants to keep that player long-term.

So, naturally, the question had to be asked: Has Parsons started recruiting Diggs to join him in Green Bay?

Diggs just smiled and laughed. But, he didn’t say no.
