SAN ANTONIO — Guests can ring in the Lunar New Year at Esencia, the new downtown restaurant at the St. Anthony Hotel, with a special evening celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse.
The event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning with a cocktail hour, followed by a traditional Lion Dance performance, and ending with a multi-course, family-style dinner. Organizers said the evening is designed to honor tradition, prosperity and community.
Chef Leo Davila, a James Beard–nominated chef, will lead the culinary experience with dishes meant to symbolize unity, longevity and good fortune. Highlights on the menu include a Prosperity Crudo Platter with smoked seafood, citrus ponzu and house pickles; Char Siu–style pork belly; Longevity Noodles with Texas Chinese BBQ and house chorizo; Peking-style duck breast and Kimchi Pancakes.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite. General Admission is $85 per person, which includes reserved seating and discounted valet parking. A VIP Experience is $150 per person and includes preferred seating, two cocktails during the cocktail hour, and complimentary valet.
