Celebration of life held for staple of Beacon Hill community

Friends gathered for a celebration of life for Mikhail “Mischka” Timofeyev, owner of the Web House Café and Bar.

SAN ANTONIO — A gathering was held Sunday for a man who was a staple in the Beacon Hill community for a long time.

Friends gathered for a celebration of life for Mikhail “Mischka” Timofeyev, owner of the Web House Café and Bar.

Mishka died last Wednesday.

Today at the Web House, friends and employees held a fundraiser to help Mishka’s family with his burial.

Mishka was from Russia, but had been in the U.S. for decades.

His friends described him as a selfless person who would give you the shirt off his back.

“Mishka was very community oriented. He cared about these people who are out here on the street. He put together a food pantry, he’s had that going for awhile. He’s always given free Thanksgiving dinners every year,” friend and employee Misty Bustamante said.

People have been dropping off items, including pet food for the food pantry at the Web House in honor of Mishka.

There will be a public viewing of Mishka next Saturday, Feb. 1.

From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bexar Memorial Funeral Home on 1723 Comal Street.

To help with Mishka’s funeral expenses, there is a GoFundMe.
