Central Texas family loses Bell County home along with pets in Saturday fire

BELL COUNTY, Texas — A home in Bell County is no longer standing after a fire that broke out Saturday. Although no persons were injured, the fire claimed the lives of family pets, according to Bell County officials.

According to the office, a resident inside the house saw the fire and left to get to safety. The person called his mother and sister, and the fire department was contacted.

First responders were unable to locate family pets reportedly still in the home. The fire was so bad that Bell County officials deemed the house to be a total loss while family members assisted the homeowner and her son.

The Bell County Fire Marshal’s Office expressed gratitude to the following emergency response departments.

“With the coordinating efforts of these agencies this fire was able to be contained efficiently and will present no fire danger to the structures in the area. Thank You,” Bell County Fire Marshal’s Office posted on Facebook.
