Central Texas school districts take part in 7-on-7 football tournament in College Station

Fourteen Central Texas-based teams battle the best of the best in Texas at a friendly seven-on-seven football tournament in College Station.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — It isn’t about winning; it is about the game. 

Fourteen Central Texas school districts are currently participating in a three-day best-on-best seven-on-seven football tournament in College Station that began Friday afternoon, building bonds and establishing memories that will last forever. 

Midway, Harker Heights, Temple, College Station and Waco ISDs were assigned to division one pools. Harker Heights was the only team to go undefeated Friday.

Meanwhile, teams from Lorena, China Spring, La Vega, West, and Little River Academy were assigned to division two pools.

Hamilton, Hearne, Goldwaithe and Bosqueville came to play as well. 

The teams play again on Sunday before returning to Central Texas.
