The free, family-friendly event will bring live music, food and local culture to downtown San Antonio on April 18.
SAN ANTONIO — A new Fiesta event is making its debut in downtown San Antonio—bringing music, food and Texas heritage to the heart of the city.
The Chaparral Music and Heritage Festival will take over Travis Park on Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering free admission for all ages.
Organizers say the event is designed to celebrate local culture with something for everyone—from live performances to artisan shopping and family-friendly activities.
The day kicks off with Mariachi Azul de San Antonio and continues with a full lineup of live music. Headlining the festival are The Spazmatics, set to take the stage at 4:30 p.m. with their high-energy mix of ‘80s hits.
Beyond the music, guests can explore a local artisan market, enjoy Fiesta foods and sip on Casa Famosa hard aguas frescas. Early arrivals can also grab free pork rinds at the Cactus Corral while supplies last.
Families can check out educational exhibits and community partners, including Texas Great Pyrenes Rescue and programming from The Magik Theatre.
For those 21 and older, a VIP experience called “Boots, Bourbon & Bites” will offer bourbon tastings, specialty bites and a limited-edition festival hat for $75.
The celebration doesn’t stop there.
An after-party will follow from 7 to 9 p.m. at The St. Anthony Hotel, with drinks available for purchase.
Organizers say the goal is to create a lively, inclusive Fiesta experience that highlights San Antonio’s culture, music and community spirit.
