Chase involving DPS ends with suspect vehicle halted, arrest in north San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — A driver is in custody after leading state troopers on a pursuit across San Antonio on  Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a black Ford Edge around 1:42 p.m. on the city’s south side. Officials say the driver failed to stop and began evading troopers throughout the city.

The pursuit came to an end near U.S. 281 and Jones Maltsberger Road, where troopers were able to disable, or stop, the vehicle.

Authorities say the driver was identified as a 35-year-old woman and taken into custody. She was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The suspect will be charged with evading arrest and detention in a motor vehicle.

DPS says this is an ongoing investigation.
