The promotion includes new Frosted Sodas and Floats, retro packaging, collectible cups and a sweepstakes offering free food for a year.
WASHINGTON — Chick-fil-A is celebrating a major milestone this year with a yearlong celebration that includes new menu items, collectibles and giveaways.
The company’s “Newstalgia” campaign in honor of its 80th anniversary kicks off Monday, Jan. 5, bringing new drinks to the permanent menu, retro packaging and collectible cups, along with a nationwide sweepstakes that will give thousands of customers free food for a year.
“This year marks more than an anniversary — it’s a celebration of the memories, meals and meaningful moments that have brought people together at Chick-fil-A for generations,” Khalilah Cooper, vice president of brand strategy, advertising & media, said in a statement. “We have so much in store this year, delivering menu items and experiences that are fresh and exciting yet firmly rooted in Chick-fil-A’s renowned quality, care, generosity, and hospitality.”
Starting Jan. 5, Chick-fil-A is introducing Frosted Sodas and Floats made with its Icedream frozen dairy dessert. Frosted Sodas mix Icedream with a customer’s choice of fountain drink, while Floats combine soda and Icedream for a more classic dessert offering. Both options will remain on the permanent menu.
Guests will also see limited-time retro packaging for the Original Chicken Sandwich, featuring vintage designs pulled from the fast food chain’s archives. Chick-fil-A is also selling $3.99 Classic Cups in four rotating retro designs.
Mixed in with those cups nationwide will be 3,000 Gold Fan Cups. Customers who receive a Gold Fan Cup can win a year of free Chick-fil-A, including 52 entrees such as an Original Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich or an 8-count Chick-fil-A Nuggets, at participating locations.
Winners can scan a QR code included with the cup to claim the prize. The sweepstakes will run through July 1, while supplies last.
Chick-fil-A is also rolling out Specialty Plush Cow toys for $9.99, along with additional cow-themed merchandise available in restaurants and online.
Later in the year, USA Today reports that the company plans to introduce updated Kids Meal offerings and a new limited-time breakfast item currently being tested in select markets. The chain’s well-known Cow Appreciation Day will return this summer, along with a revived Cow Calendar featuring a new digital component in the Chick-fil-A app.
