Chiefs Kingdom, it’s here! Texas favorite breaks ground on newest location

But apparently their affinity for flagship locations didn’t stop there. Because on Thursday, October 2, Texas’ fast-growing beaver-branded gas station, broke ground on its newest travel center in Kansas City, Kansas.

According to a release by Newswire, members of the UG Board of Commissioners for Kansas City and the mayor attended the groundbreaking ceremony. Located at 601 Village West Parkway, next to the Kansas Speedway, the new location will have over 100 gas pumps and 12 electric vehicle charging stations. Occupying 74,000 square feet, the travel center will employ at least 225 full-time jobs with an average starting pay of about $18 to $21 per hour, the release adds.

The $95 million project is expected to take at least two years to complete, with an end-of-year opening date currently set in 2027. The new location will be a first for the state of Kansas. But nearby, in Springfield, Missouri, fans can find another Buc-ee’s travel center about three hours away.

Buc-ee’s is proud to offer its signature favorites, including Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fresh pastries to the Sunflower State, the company says. Guests can enjoy thousands of snack, meal, and beverage options, along with award-winning restrooms, competitively priced fuel, and the exceptional service that has made Buc-ee’s a trusted name for over 40 years.

Find it: 601 Village West Pkwy., Kansas City, KS 66111
