HOUSTON — Houston police say a boy is dead after he was hit by a car while trying to cross the street Saturday night. Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
This happened on North Shepherd Drive at Tidwell around 8:30 p.m.
Police say the boy, believed to be 11 years old, was not using a crosswalk when he was struck by a Dodge Charger.
The Houston Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.
The car had a green light and the driver stayed at the scene and didn’t show signs of impairment, according to HPD.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
