Records show that Julious Griffin’s charges have not been changed.
LUFKIN, Texas — The child who was shot in the leg Tuesday in Lufkin has died.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, Julious Griffin is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon for the shooting of a child around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Percy Simond.
Griffin told police that he shot the child in self-defense. The child was taken to a local hospital and later taken by air ambulance to an out-of-town hospital.
The child later died early Thursday morning in a Houston hospital. Records show that Griffin’s charges have not been changed.
