Children’s Ballet of San Antonio holds auditions for two holiday favorites

The Children’s Ballet of San Antonio is holding auditions this week for The Children’s Nutcracker and the Polar Express: The Musical.

SAN ANTONIO — The heat may be in the triple digits in San Antonio, but one local organization is looking ahead to the holidays with two Christmas-themed productions.

The Children’s Ballet of San Antonio is holding auditions this week for The Children’s Nutcracker and the Polar Express: The Musical.  

Auditions for the Children’s Nutcracker are open to any dancers, musicians, actors and gymnasts ages 3-19. The classic tale of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince will be brought to life by rising star dance students who have received international awards and scholarships, as well as dancers of all skill levels. The production will take place at the Lika Cockrell Theatre on December 13-15. Auditions will take place this Saturday, August 17 at CBSA’s sponsor school, the Dance Center of San Antonio.

The Polar Express: The Musical take place at the Empire Theatre on December 6 – 8. Auditions take place Friday, August 16, and are open to performers age 10 and up in acting, singing, gymnastics, and a wide range of dance. 

Performers age 10 and up are welcome to audition for both and there is no audition fee for either of them. More information available here.
