“Nothing but love for the 2-1-0,” said Paul in his thank-you message to the San Antonio faithful.
SAN ANTONIO — With news that guard Chris Paul is set to rejoin the Clippers next season, he sent a thank-you message to the San Antonio Spurs, saying the franchise has “such a rich history and bright future.”
“Grateful for the journey,” Paul wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to the San Antonio Spurs organization, Coach Pop, Coach Mitch, my teammates, the coaching staff and the incredible fans for welcoming me this past season… nothing but love for the 2-1-0.”

It was inevitable that the Spurs would move on without the 40-year-old Paul at the guard spot, which now boasts reigning Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle, established star De’Aaron Fox and No. 2 overall pick Dylan Harper.
But Paul remained a professional throughout his one season with the Spurs, leaving the young players with a wealth of NBA knowledge. He even received his own San Antonio mural, represented the Spurs at the 2025 All-Star Skills Challenge and proved he can still be reliable, having played all 82 games in the previous season.
Paul averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game with San Antonio. More importantly, he left a significant positive footprint on the current rebuild.
Expect the Spurs to give him a fitting tribute video next season when the Clippers visit San Antonio.
