TYLER, Texas — Christus Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas have decided to extended their contract to Aug. 1 during current discussions.
Amid ongoing negotiations, July 1 was the deadline for the two companies to come to an agreement.
But state Rep. Jay Dean, R-Longview, said on social media Monday that the deadline has been extended.
Dean chairs the Texas House committee that has been a part of the insurance discussions between Christus and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
“I’ve been working with both parties to come to a reasonable conclusion to protect patients of East Texas,” Dean said.
