National Popcorn Day is Sunday, Jan. 19. Cinemark invites popcorn lovers to fill their own buckets for $5 that day. Other deals will also be available.
UNITED STATES, — Cinemark, one of the world’s largest theatrical exhibition companies, is bringing a great deal to theatres across the United States on National Popcorn Day, which falls on Sunday, Jan. 19.
That day, as part of Cinemark’s first-ever “Bring Your Own Bucket” initiative, popcorn lovers can do just that. For the price of $5, patrons can fill their own buckets for $5 at all Cinemark theatres.
In Connecticut, Cinemark theatres are located in Manchester at 99 Red Stone Road, in Milford at 1201 Boston Post Road Suite 3000 and in North Haven at 550 Universal Drive.
On National Popcorn Day, those who attend Cinemark theatres can also purchase a refillable XL popcorn for $5. A social sweepstakes and special discount on gift cards will be available as well. One can discover more information about the celebration here.
Dave Haywood, Cinemark’s Food and Beverage SVP, said National Popcorn Day is one of the best days of the year for the movie theatre chain and popcorn lovers everywhere.
“We are thrilled to mark this year’s celebration with our first ever ‘Bring Your Own Bucket’ event, in addition to limited time sweepstakes and promotions,” Haywood said in a release. “Popcorn has always been the star of movie theatre concessions, though popcorn vessels have become an award-winning supporting actor. We are excited for everyone to get creative with this campaign and show off their choice of container while enjoying the iconic snack alongside a great film.”
From iconic film-specific collectible buckets to favorite snack bowls and creative DIY art projects, Cinemark encourages all popcorn lovers to stop by their local theatre on Jan. 19. Everyone can participate for $5, and no movie ticket is required.
The popcorn container must be clean and cannot exceed 400 ounces. If the container meets the requirements, movie theatre employees will fill it to the brim with freshly made popcorn.
