
Kendall County has issued an emergency declaration.
SAN ANTONIO — Multiple firework shows have been cancelled due to the historic Fourth of July floods in the Hill Country area.
Kerrville’s 4th on the River Festival has been cancelled due to the massive flooding. Officials made the announcement early Friday morning on their Facebook page referencing “circumstances out of our control.”
Boerne officials also announced they will be cancelling Friday’s fireworks show because of multiple factors including having limited emergency crews since the Boerne Fire Department and the Boerne Police Department are assisting with the rescue and recovery efforts following the flooding.
Kendall County has issued an emergency declaration, and weather forecasts show a continued chance of rain through the evening.
Boerne PD will reportedly be helping with crews in Kerrville while the fire department helps with Comfort. The fire department has rescued nine people from floodwaters as of 3 p.m. Friday.
“We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to stay home tonight. The safety of our residents and regional partners remains our top priority – may we continue to carry them in our hearts and prayers.,” Boerne officials said in a statement.
