Lace up your sneakers, San Antonio, a popular community race is making its return to a one-of-a-kind course.

The City of San Antonio is inviting residents and employees to take part in the 16th annual City Manager’s 5K Walk & Run, set for Saturday, April 4 at SeaWorld San Antonio.

The race kicks off at 8 a.m., but the morning will be packed with activities starting as early as 6:30 a.m. with packet pickup and onsite registration.

City leaders say the event is all about bringing the community together while promoting healthy living.

“We’re proud to once again host this family-friendly event for our employees and residents,” said City Manager Erik Walsh. “Promoting wellness is a key part of our culture.”

Participants can expect more than just a run. The course winds through the SeaWorld grounds, with music, vendor booths and appearances by city mascots adding to the atmosphere.

Registration is now open, with an entry fee of $10 per person. Participants who register by March 24 can also purchase an event T-shirt for an additional $10.

Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome, with awards planned across eight age groups, ranging from youth to seniors.

There’s also a bonus perk: participants will have access to discounted SeaWorld tickets valid April 4 through April 11.

Free parking will be available on-site, and SeaWorld will open to the public later that morning after the event wraps up.

Organizers encourage participants to sign up early and come ready for a morning of fitness, fun and community spirit.
