City of Castroville lifts boil-water notice after two days

SAN ANTONIO — Castroville residents are no longer required to boil water they plan to consume after city officials said recent lab results gave the all-clear.

The city, located about 25 miles west of downtown San Antonio, lifted the boil-water notice on Friday, two days after a water main break forced officials to implement it in the first place. The break was fixed within hours Wednesday, but the city had said residents were still urged to boil any water they planned to cook with, drink or use for personal hygiene.

“The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water,” the city said in a social media post

Any residents with questions are encouraged to contact Castroville Public Works at (830) 931-4090.
