NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The City of New Braunfels has announced their new chief of police of NBPD in a Facebook post.
Osbaldo Flores brings more than 27 years of law enforcement experience to the role and is currently serving as assistant chief with the Arlington Police Department, according to the post.
He has had leadership roles managing divisions such as patrol, recruiting, community engagement, behavioral health and crime analysis while overseeing a $25 million budget.
The post says Flores was chosen over 38 other applicants. He is scheduled for confirmation by New Braunfels City Council at their meeting on Feb. 24.
“Flores’ extensive experience and proven leadership in law enforcement, combined with his passion for community engagement, make him an ideal candidate to lead the New Braunfels Police Department,” said City Manager Robert Camareno. “His ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, coupled with his strategic vision for public safety, will be an asset as we navigate the evolving needs of our community. I am confident that Mr. Flores’ leadership and experience will serve New Braunfels well as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors.”
