The City of New Braunfels will host a parade and ceremony March 14 to celebrate Olympic gold medalist Elana Meyers Taylor.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The City of New Braunfels is rolling out the red carpet for one of its own.
City leaders are inviting residents to gather on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. for a Gold Medal Parade honoring Olympic bobsled champion Elana Meyers Taylor, a New Braunfels resident who recently captured gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The celebration will begin with a brief ceremony at the Bandstand in Main Plaza, where community members will have the chance to recognize Meyers Taylor’s historic achievement before the parade gets underway.
The parade procession will start at the intersection of Hill Avenue and West San Antonio Street, then travel toward Main Plaza, circle the plaza area and return down West San Antonio Street.
City officials say the event is meant to bring the community together to welcome the Olympic champion home and celebrate her accomplishment on the world stage.
Drivers should plan ahead if they’re traveling through the area that morning. Road closures around Main Plaza and several nearby streets will begin around 8 a.m. and remain in place during the event.
City officials say more details about the parade and traffic impacts will be shared as the event approaches.
For now, organizers say the goal is simple: give the hometown Olympic champion the gold medal welcome she deserves.
