Household materials that are eligible for tossing include appliances, furniture and mattresses, carpets, fencing material, water heaters, and toilets. And once your tires can’t bear another patch, customers are eligible to bring up to six passenger vehicle tires per household. Leave those tractor tires at home (or donate them to your nearest CrossFit gym, I suppose).

Still, not all materials are created equal. Unacceptable materials include roofing, sheet rock, dirt, bricks, brush, lumber, or general construction materials, along with industrial or commercial waste.
The free landfill day kicks off at 8 a.m. and runs through 1 p.m.; SWMD recommends loads be covered with a tarp and for customers to wear a safety vest during drop off.
Drop off locations include the Republic Services Landfill at 7000 I-10 E., San Antonio, TX 778129 and the Waste Management Landfill at 8611 Covel Road, San Antonio, TX 78252.

Note: San Antonio officials reserve the right to divert loads to other sites, per a news release for the event.
