City of San Antonio to host first-ever Fourth of July drone light show over Woodlawn Lake Park

SAN ANTONIO — For the first time ever, a Fourth of July drone light show will be lighting up the San Antonio sky over Woodlawn Lake Park, thanks to a SA councilmember.

The show is a part of the City of San Antonio’s official Fourth of July celebration. While drone light shows are normally featured at downtown events, they’re coming to Woodlawn Lake Park in a “major way.”

“I’m proud to share a major win for the west side,” said Councilmember Marina Alderete Gavito. “Because the District 7 team and I pushed for it, this year’s Fourth of July Celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park will feature something we’ve never had before — a drone light show, in addition to the regularly scheduled fireworks show – that will brighten the sky in a brand-new way.”

The San Antonio Parks Foundation helped coordinate the addition of the show along with the traditional fireworks display.
