
New Braunfels has closed several roads and restricts river access due to flooding from hours of heavy rain.
SAN ANTONIO — Several roads are closed and the river access is restricted in New Braunfels as the town deals with flooding and high water from several hours of rain overnight.
Video shows rushing water at the Comal River in New Braunfels. Officials say access the Comal River for recreation is temporarily closed. City officials will look at the situation again on Friday, June 13.
Also, the Spring Fed Pool at the Landa Park Aquatic Complex will be closed for the day. But the rest of the complex, including the Olympic Pool, will remain open.
Heavy rain and storms swept through South Central Texas Thursday morning, causing flooding on already soaked ground from several days of rain. Wednesday also saw heavy from from thunderstorms moving through the area.
