The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said Tye Rexrode engaged in sexual contact with a student and inappropriately communicated with numerous others.
COMFORT, Texas — A Comfort High School teacher and coach was arrested Thursday morning after weekslong investigation into allegations that he was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Tye Rexrode, 38, now faces several charges after Kendall County authorities accused him of the improper relationships, saying he inappropriately communicated with several students online. In February, Comfort ISD initially said it was investigating allegations against a teacher now identified as Rexrode and was taking immediate action.
Comfort ISD officials tell KENS 5 that he has resigned.
According to the arrest affidavit, Rexrode allegedly met up with a student at a hotel to engage in sexual activity on multiple occasions in December and January.
Officials say the investigation into these allegations expanded after they discovered he communicating inappropriately with numerous female students via Snapchat.

Rexrode is in custody on multiple counts of improper relationship between an educator and student, a second-degree felony charge. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office urged anyone who knows about additional victims to contact them at (830) 249-9721.
Rexrode’s bond was set at $400,000.
