KATY, Texas — A massive sinkhole appeared in the Katy area and it’s causing concern for residents in the area.
It was reported along the Mason Creek Hike & Bike Trail in the Nottingham Country neighborhood — near the intersection of Rustic Knolls Drive and Hoveden Drive.
According to Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Terry Allbritton, the sinkhole was about 15 feet deep and 12 feet wide. He said crews placed cones around the hole until the necessary repairs could be made. It’s unclear when the repairs will be made.
In photos posted to social media, the sinkhole appears to have formed between the trail and the creek.
