Construction on this major downtown San Antonio thoroughfare moves into 2024 and is expected to close parts of the road for the first quarter of the year. Parts of lower Broadway will close for continued road work starting Wednesday, according to a news release from public works, and the specified portions are expected to have closures until March.
The first section of Broadway expected to close is from Pecan Street to Fourth Street. This includes the intersections of Broadway and Pecan Street and Broadway and Third Street. Broadway will also be closed from McCullough Avenue to Sixth Street, including the intersection of Broadway and McCullough Avenue, according to the news release.
The sections of Broadway that were closed previously are now reopened. This includes Broadway from Brooklyn Avenue to Sixth Street and Broadway from McCullough Avenue to Fourth Street. Sidewalk work is still ongoing in these areas. Construction moving to a news phase means other intersections are now open.
