The facility officially broke ground on the club’s new pickleball complex.
The game has taken off in the Coastal Bend and continues to be popular among people of all ages.
This expansion should allow even more folks to join in on the fun, even when it’s scorching outside.
Mayor Paulette Guajardo and other city officials were in attendance.
“We’re moving forward with the times,” she said. “I remember hearing and watching pickleball in Scottsdale, Arizona, probably 8 to 10 years ago, so thank you for making this a priority.”
The complex will house a total of eight new indoor, air-conditioned pickleball courts.
