Costco is officially coming to New Braunfels, with doors expected to open in April, according to the company’s website. The nearly 158,000-square-foot warehouse and fuel station will be the first major commercial anchor in the 1,900-acre Mayfair community, drawing shoppers from across Comal County and beyond.
Mayfair has been years in the making. Designed as a live-work-play community, it blends residential neighborhoods with retail, dining and recreational amenities. Vertical construction for Costco began late last year, and crews are now building both the warehouse and fuel station structures. The $37 million project is more than a store; it’s a milestone signaling that Mayfair is evolving from a residential development into a regional destination.
For New Braunfels residents, the nearest existing Costco is in Selma, north of San Antonio, making the new location a major convenience. The store is expected to attract additional businesses to Mayfair, including restaurants, shops and service providers, as the area solidifies its identity as a live-work-play hub.
Costco’s opening in New Braunfels follows other upcoming Texas locations in Liberty Hill and Forney, both expected to open in March. With the April opening on the Northside, locals will finally have easier access to bulk shopping, fuel services and one of the country’s largest warehouse retailers, right in their own backyard.
