
The Bexar County judge orders early closure of offices before downtown San Antonio protest.
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — All county offices will be closed early Wednesday afternoon ahead of planned protests in downtown San Antonio over ICE policies.
The county said Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai gave the order to close all offices and departments at 3 p.m. “in anticipation of increased traffic in and around the downtown area.”
A protest is planned for 7 p.m. in the downtown area. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus as well as other city leaders gave a news conference Wednesday where they urged protesters to keep the demonstration peaceful. They also assured all participants they were prepared to keep the city safe.

As per County Judge Peter Sakai, all County Offices and Departments will be closing early, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 3 p.m. in anticipation of increased traffic in and around the downtown area. County Offices and Departments will resume normal operations on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Emergency and essential personnel will continue to report as usual to their assigned work locations. Any updates will be posted online at www.bexar.org, on social media and shared with local news agencies.
