It’s been over a week since the news broke about the arrest of a Holy Cross of San Antonio coach, rocking the private school community. Now, new documents have been released, and a second arrest made, showing more victims and criminal charges are pending.
Armando Flores, 34, was first arrested on October 8 for invasive visual recording – a state jail felony punishable by up to 2 years in prison. But the former science teacher and football coach at the prestigious San Antonio Catholic school was placed back behind bars Thursday, October 16, where he still remained as of Friday afternoon.
Investigators say he secretly filmed fellow employees and two deacons changing in his office, and they confirmed at least one student victim. Court documents and San Antonio Police Department statements suggest there could be more students recorded in compromised positions as they scour through large amounts of footage. Further, a warrant for his arrest signed October 15 says he sent inappropriate, sexually explicit text messages to a student and filmed himself having sex in his office with a former staffer at Holy Cross of San Antonio.
“The image … depicted the Victim in this case, identified as a 13-year-old minor female, changing clothes and wearing a purple bra,” the warrant for Flores’ arrest reads, noting the footage was timestamped October 1 of this year. “[The investigator] also discovered that [Flores] was engaged in sexual conduct with a former staff member inside the office.”
This particular discovery led SAPD to file a second invasive recording charge against Flores, though the warrant even states more charges could be filed in the future. Among potential cases, SAPD investigators say they found texts from Flores to a student from December of 2023, with Flores asking the student if they were touching themselves. He’s also accused of texting that same student an image of themself and saying, “nice a**.”
That student’s parent was contacted, but it’s unclear at this time if additional charges will be filed due to this discovery. Flores was fired early last week as soon as his office mate – a part-time volleyball coach at the school – discovered his alarm clock had a hidden camera. When she had her daughter review what was stored on it, she found images of herself changing. This is what sparked the initial investigation into Flores, a state certified middle school science teacher under state investigation, and his first arrest on October 8.
Administrators told SAPD there was no locker room for employees to change in, making changing in private offices a common occurrence. Police found he had purchased the hidden camera from Amazon on May 26 through a screenshot of the purchase that was reportedly stored on his cell phone.
“The school administration was contacted and confirmed that there were no claims of theft occurring at the school that would justify the need to have a surveillance camera placed inside the shared office,” the warrant reads. “It is common for faculty members to changed [sic] in their office, to include [Flores] as well as other students that would change in there for privacy.”
