FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys agreed to a multi-year extension with one of the organization’s top front office employees.
McClay is the highest-ranking member of the front office outside of the Jones family. He has worked in the Cowboys Personnel Department for 21 years, according to his team bio, and has led the department since 2014.
McClay took over the Cowboys’ draft process in 2014 and his first two picks were right guard Zack Martin and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. Fifteen players drafted by the Cowboys with McClay leading the process have been named as Pro Bowlers: Martin, Lawrence, cornerback Byron Jones, running back Ezekiel Elliott, linebacker Jaylon Smith, quarterback Dak Prescott, linebacker Leighton Vander Esch, running back Tony Pollard, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, cornerback Trevon Diggs, center Tyler Biadasz, edge rusher Micah Parsons, guard Tyler Smith, tight end Jake Ferguson and cornerback DaRon Bland.
McClay also plays a key role in free agent and trade acquisitions, which has seen Pro Bowlers returner KaVontae Turpin and kicker Brandon Aubrey come to Dallas from the USFL under McClay’s tenure.

Six players brought to Dallas under McClay have been named first-team All Pro, which is tied for most with the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.
