Cowboys Thanksgiving Day opponent announced for 2025

Dallas will host the Kansas City Chiefs at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 27, in the traditional afternoon slot on Turkey Day.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys’ annual Thanksgiving Day opponent has been announced for 2025. And it won’t be an easy task — but, really, what is for the Cowboys?

Dallas will host the Kansas City Chiefs at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 27, in the traditional afternoon slot on Turkey Day. The game, which is typically the most-viewed regular season game of the NFL season, will be broadcast on CBS.

The Cowboys have hosted a Thanksgiving Day game since 1966. Last year, Dallas beat the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day, 27-20.

The Chiefs haven’t had the holiday spotlight quite as often, playing 10 times on Thanksgiving, according to NFL.com. The Cowboys’ matchup will be a homecoming for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who grew up in East Texas, went to college at Texas Tech and trains in Fort Worth during the offseason.

The full NFL schedule for 2025 will be released Wednesday night. The league has been announcing featured matchups throughout the week, including the Monday announcement that the Cowboys will travel to Philadelphia for the first game of the season on Thursday, Sept. 4.
