Crashes bring Highway 90 to standstill in San Antonio during rush hour

Crashes on Highway 90 on San Antonio’s Westside have brought afternoon rush hour traffic to a grinding halt on Wednesday. A major incident on Hwy. 90 westbound between Hwy. 151 and Callaghan Road has all three lanes, the shoulder and the exit ramp blocked. The crash was confirmed on TxDOT’s website at 4:23 p.m.

SigAlert notes that traffic from the crash has backed up to the I-10, I-35, and Hwy. 87 interchange. Traffic is being diverted onto Hwy. 151 with delays upward of 10 minutes.

A second crash on Hwy. 90, but on the eastbound side of the roadway, is located between Callaghan road and Acme Road and has traffic backed up to Loop 410. Traffic is being diverted on to the Frontage Road as all three main lanes are blocked. The crash was reported by TxDOT at 4:10 p.m.
