GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — Authorities are responding to a large grass fire burning across a broad stretch of Hickory Forest in southern Guadalupe County, according to the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office.
GCSO said the fire is threatening nearby residences and other structures as emergency crews work to contain the blaze.
Residents in the area are urged to remain aware of the rapidly developing situation. Anyone who believes they may be in danger or is located near the affected area should evacuate immediately and prioritize their safety, according to GCSO.
Authorities also warned residents not to attempt to fight the fire themselves.
Drivers are also advised to avoid the area so emergency vehicles can move freely.
