Tyler Smith signed a four-year contract extension worth $96 million.
DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement with Tyler Smith to make him the highest-paid guard in NFL history, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter reported the deal is a four-year extension worth $96 million.
This is the latest in a slew of contract extensions after Dallas traded superstar Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Parsons and the Cowboys were at a stalemate all offseason on a new deal. Jones said he offered Parsons a deal that would have made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Parsons ended up getting that anyway with Green Bay, resetting the pass rusher market with his $47 million per year salary.
This marks another contract extension since Parsons was dealt, following DaRon Bland‘s deal a couple of weeks ago. Tight end Jake Ferguson was also signed to a new deal this summer.
Dallas drafted Smith with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys had already picked up Smith’s fifth-year option, locking him in through 2026, but now the contract extension ensures Smith will be a Cowboy through 2030.
